Alternative Investments
Our Alternative Investments team consists of six experts with extensive knowledge of private equity investments and real estate development. The team currently manages Akur Private Equity Fund, two real estate funds, Fast-3 and 105 Miðborg, and two new funds that were established in 2021, IS Kredit SPV 21 and IS Corporate Credit Fund.
Akur Private Equity Fund, established in December of 2013, is now fully invested and the portfolio is comprised of five assets in various industries. Akur's focus is on unlisted, profitable companies with clear vision, strong management team and opportunities for growth. Shareholders are currently 13, mostly pension funds.
FAST-3 real estate fund, which was established in February 2016, has invested in a construction of a hotel in cooperation with the Scandinavian hotel group First Hotels. The hotel started its operation in December 2017.
105 Miðborg is a real estate project that includes residential housing, hotel and office facilities.
IS Corporate Credit Fund invests in loans to companies in cooperation with Íslandsbanki. The fund thus provides institutional investors with access to a market that has largely been limited to banks.
IS Kredit SPV 21 finances the property where the teaching and operations of Reykjavik University take place.
Iceland Funds also manages Alpha Equity Fund and Commodity Strategy Fund.
